Getting Started

Hi there, I am Santhini, mother of a chatty 8-year-old girl, wife, and a full-time researcher. This is my first post.

 Mmm...Why am I doing this? 🤔

 Because

  • I want to value the good moments the days provide.
  • I feel good while I write.
  • And I want to tell and be heard.

What do I write about?

 Mmm... About things cherishable.

I want to capture and preserve bits of 'bliss'

and hold them like a jar full of fireflies.

Me...myself...

I am a person who wants to explore so many things at once.

  • I want to learn the whole lyrics of a song and sing to myself [even though I am fully aware that I am not a singer stuff].
  • I want to paint... flowers, sunset, landscapes, abstract, vagera,vagera... using brush and paint. Preferably, on a large canvas, like a master painter.
  • I want to relax and enjoy reading. [There comes the challenge. The relaxing part...usually puts me to sleep].

Hence, I have come up with a brilliant scheme. "Audible". I can gear up with headphones and do the boring household chores while listening to amazing stories, especially those narrated by the authors themselves.

Listening to Priyanka Chopra's 'Unfinished' and Michelle Obama's 'Becoming' through my headphones and that too in their own voices were delightful experiences. Both thrilling and inspirational. They are birds of the same feather. Confident, aspiring women with a purpose.

Plugging in the headphones and taking a morning walk is another delight. Some prefer songs but I like stories. Songs can set the mood; stories need attention. So that mind won't wander and cause mental diarrhea.

Another good thing about 'Audible' is that I could finish the unfinishable bulky, sulky books with ease. Midnight's Children for example is enjoyable but still an Everest. After several failed attempts to scale it, I could finally nail it with the help of 'Audible'. I did it!!

Apart from that, 'Audible' provides performative acts of books. One such act is 'Mafia Queens of Mumbai' performed by the actors Radhika Apte, Kalki Koechlin, and Rajkumar Rao. It even has a title song! I was reminded of radio dramas in my childhood.

 Hmmm...

 What else other than that?

 What else can I do?

  • Baking? Already done with it.
  • Crochet? Nooo
  • Embroidery? Ok
  • Gardening? Yaa. A flower garden. Why not?
  • Blogging? Wonderful!

Here I am. Tada...😊

A Moment That Changed Me
